Air travel requires careful preparation to keep your pet safe and comfortable. Start by checking airline regulations regarding carrier size, ventilation, and required documents. Many airlines require health certificates issued by a veterinarian within a specific time frame.
Choose an airline-approved carrier with secure locks and plenty of airflow. Attach a label with your contact information and your pet’s name. Before the flight, give your pet enough time to rest, hydrate, and use the bathroom. Avoid feeding large meals right before departure. A calm, well-prepared pet has a much smoother experience in the air.
