Tips for Recording Words Well: Hold the button between 6-12 inches away from your mouth, and slightly lower than your mouth (similar to talking into a microphone). Overemphasize voiceless sounds (k, p, ch, f, s, sh, t, th) and speak slowly when recording multisyllabic words
